History

A bamboo work using a root curve bamboo was popular from the Edo Period, and it was being used in all living situations.
The root is a bent thin bamboo as a root bent bamboo is a word. Therefore mechanization is impossible and everything is performed by handwork. Skin is peeled by hand and it's knitted up by* hand. That's a bamboo work in Sukagawa.

Production process

A bamboo is cut.

In working the root curve bamboo growing naturally with the hands one by one, I mow.

Considering the bamboo and capture of HIGO

1 bamboo is divided into 4 and the chamfering for which a part in a corner of a bamboo is taken is performed.

The capture of width

It's pulled to 2 penknives assembled into a letter of eight reversely around a bamboo.
